The Wedding Party

Maids of Honor

  Ali Shaffer
Ali and Kate are pretty sure they're sisters that were separated at birth. They were reunited at St. Olaf College where they met on the St. Olaf Ski team. Both lived in Sandy, Utah as young children, suffered through androgynous bowl cuts and buck teeth, were art majors, are decent photographers, share a passion for alpine skiing, enjoy mountain biking, have definite opinions on which fonts they prefer, love ginger chews, and share a deep appreciation for Toyota Landcruisers. They have shared some pretty awesome adventures and will undoubtedly share many more. Ali lives in the Salt Lake City area with her brand new husband Pete. She is a graphic designer, foodie, dog lover, and outdoor adventurer.

Carol Klimek
Carol and Kate have been friends since they met on the Sports Hut ski team in high school. From there, they both went on to St. Olaf to ski race, study Biology, and watch the O.C. every week in Mohn Hall while eating chips and salsa.  They share many wonderful memories like the time they bought out a mini mart in Sugarloaf, Maine of tomato soup to serve the St. Olaf Ski Team because they didn't understand the meaning of "condensed"and they were too busy dancing and singing into spatulas to figure it out. Or the time they celebrated Palm Sunday at Ikea and ended up buying a palm tree and naming it Jebus. Carol is a P.A. in Alexandria, MN where she lives with her husband Nick, daughter Lilly and dog Chuck.

Bridesmaids

Anna Feigum
Anna is one of two bridesmaids that is fluent in Norwegian. Go figure. Anna, Kate and Kari were roommates, soccer teammates, and close friends in college.  She is an incredible friend and one of the most well traveled and well educated people that Kate knows with degrees in math, education, norwegian and and a recent masters in international relations. She currently lives in Norway with her boyfriend Marius, teaches, and runs and hikes her way through the fjords of Bergen. It's okay to be jealous.

Kari Holden
Kari, Kate and Anna lived together in college until Kari and Anna left Kate to study abroad in Norway at the end of their junior year. Triple dorms are probably too small for three girls, but far too big and lonely with just one :( Kate was so relieved to have them return senior year. Kari is fearless, free-spirited and absolutely gorgeous inside and out. She will be especially radiant at the wedding because she is having a BABY this coming winter! Whoop! Whoop! She and her husband Tyler are Northfield natives and recently moved into a beautiful new home just outside of town.

Alicia Peterson
Alica is currently living in Phoenix, Arizona completing her residency in emergency medicine. This girl is always up for adventure. She is an incredible snow and water skier, mountain biker, rock climber, and all around athlete. Alicia and Kate became friends on the St. Olaf Ski Team and later became co-captains of the women's team. Thank goodness Alicia transferred to Olaf her sophomore year or Kate may not have been inspired by her passion and drive, survived genetics class, learned how to wake board, or discovered Malibu coconut rum.

 Jacob's Best Man

Adam Lane-Olsen
Adam is Jacob’s older brother and one of the biggest influences in Jacob’s life. Adam currently lives in Hutchinson, Kansas with his wife Alison and their two children Monroe and Elin. Adam and family are actually more involved in the wedding than Kate and Jacob with Adam serving as the best man, Alison performing the ceremony, Monroe as the junior groomsmen, and Elin as the flower girl.

As kids, Jacob loved to follow his big brother everywhere, whether it was around the ski hill or to St. Olaf College. However, their biggest adventure was a five-week concert trip that Adam organized. In that time, Adam and Jacob saw 17 Phil Lesh shows, drove across the country, killed a Ford Aerostar van, and made some incredible memories. I’m sure their parents were thrilled.

Groomsmen

Paul Campbell
Paul (a.k.a. "Tex") hails from the great state of Texas and he and Jacob were introduced on their first day at St. Olaf College. Their friendship was instantaneous because Jacob always wanted a friend he could nickname "Tex". Jacob and Tex were roommates during their sophomore year and have remained close friends ever since. The two also share a similar taste in music and attended several concerts during college. One of their best shared memories is road tripping, with Kate and some other friends, to Telluride, Colorado for the Telluride Bluegrass Festival.

Trevor Davis
Before Jacob was engaged to Kate, mutual friends would refer to Trevor as Jacob’s better half. Jacob and Trevor grew up together skiing at Nub’s Nob in Michigan where Trevor’s parents and Jacob's dad were on the ski patrol. They skied in high school together winning two Michigan alpine state championships and then went on to ski together at St. Olaf College. When Jacob is away from Trevor he gets headaches and the shakes.

Kale Westby
Kale is Kate's younger brother and is currently working for ME elecmetal as a mechanical engineer. Jacob has gotten to know Kale over the years through his relationship with Kate as well as on the ski hill. Jacob was able to ski for Kale’s ski challenge team as a guest racer once this season and the two were able to bond while enjoying two of their shared passions: ski racing and drinking beer. Jacob is looking forward to having Kale as a brother-in-law and fully expects to receive the family discount on car repairs.

 Zach Wyman
Zach and Jacob met while racing in college, but really became close friends while Jacob was coaching skiing at Lakeville North High School and Zach was coaching at Lakeville South High School. Jacob even lived in Zach’s spare room for about a year. The arrangement worked out well and the two remained friends despite the fact that Zach has all white furniture and Jacob has never been described as a ‘tidy’ person.
